The Western Left and Islamists share a common enemy, Western Civ and especially its Jewish outpost in the ME, which gives them a shared banner to march under, but there's also another factor that bonds them: complementary fetishes.

It was formed mainly from the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) and Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), both of which were secular organizations (and the PFLP was even Marxist).
This is in stark contrast to an organization like ISIS, and all the rest of the examples that you list in that paragraph.
Out of curiosity, I looked up how the EU defines “far-right politics” according to AI Gemini. The EU does not officially define it, but it can be inferred from how European institutions and media define it. I am horrified by how normal and logical topics are labeled in this way:

I have been a supporter of the EU for many years, although I have always known that it has its problems and that it needs to be reformed in some way. I may have even once believed that federalization was the right way to go, but as I get older and see events in the world, I am becoming more and more skeptical (i.e. apparently far-right). Good article, I totally agree. The authoritarian left is a cancer that feeds the authoritarian tight. Western society is attacked from both sides. The center must promote strength and confidence to face both sides, and this can only be done with courageous politicians that put their personal interest behind the common good. Where are they ?
