Minor correction:

"Watts patiently explained this was a question she was asking all the mayoral candidates"

Should be gubernatorial candidates.

I would argue that the leftist cohort prohibits most everything that’s not lockstep leftist. Certainly that’s not the recipe for dialogue or even accepting differences. Their goals are not my goals. Their strategies are not my strategies. I can’t debate these people because they don’t reason. it feels insurmountable sometimes to ponder how we will de-program the last few generations in America, so that American values can rise to prominence once again. I think most Americans want a moderate government. I think they themselves are mostly moderate. You wouldn’t know that from the loud bullying that comes with leftism but I know they’re there.

They learned, in the course of promoting LGB, that describing all disagreement as "dehumanizing" is effective. This leads them to feel justified in killing everyone who disagrees with them.

This belief is widespread, and the only reason it hasn't led to mass murder is that your typical Leftist is very, very fear-motivated. She's terrified of getting hurt in any way, which makes her terrified of attacking people herself. She instead lives online, demanding that others do violence on her behalf.

The "retreat" that you speak of is simply flopping on the floor and flailing, screaming that reason is "sexist" and logic "racist" is simply the pouting arguments of children. Similarly, those who believe the universe was created in six days have already hurt their own cause when they later declare to have "science facts" to back their arguments.

Why must everyone be either "left" or "right?" "Progressive" or "MAGA?" Who will speak of the increasing isolation of the "wings" of ideology, those of us who view both "sides" to be irrational screamers..and when?

Is all this silliness just for attention, money, votes, clicks, and likes? Is that what we've fallen to?

"""On the left, you have Antifa, but they’re tiny compared to what you have on the right."""

I'm curious as to whether this statement can be supported.

Good call. I refined that sentence and added a link to a study.

I appreciate the effort.

I'm still going to disagree with that study, as I do with pretty much everything in the space, since it matter-of-factly attributes anything KKK-esque to the "Right", which aligns with left-wing rhetoric but not reality. More broadly, these sorts of analyses tent to be very generous in attributing deaths that result from left-wing activity to "mental illness" or downstream violence, which is how it comes to be that no left-wing killings are found in the Floyd riots, which left dozens dead.

To my mind, yesterday's news that the Palisades fire was deliberately set by someone with anticapitalist motivations ought to add the fire's 12 deaths to a left-wing political violence toll, but you can bet no accounting will do that. Heck, most of them don't even count the Trump assassination attempts as left-wing violence.

Oh, did I mention that many still cling to the notion that all antisemitic attacks are "right-wing"? Because even starting back in 2016, virtually all of the increase in "hate crimes" in the US was antisemitism, usually with non-white perpetrators, but left-wing media breathlessly warned of "skyrocketing hate crimes under Trump" without details.
