Are you asking about the novel We by Yevgeny Zamyatin? I can’t remember what I said about the politics of the book - we did this interview a while ago. What is it you want to know about the politics of this novel?
Ah cool - maybe David will chime in. It could be we talked about how the novel politically backfired on Zamyatin - it was banned and then it re-emerged in a Russian translation in Eastern Europe years later - he was persecuted over it and then unable to write in Russia. Zamyatin ultimately wrote a letter to Stalin (possibly delivered through Trotsky) asking to leave the country. He was granted leave but died in poverty in France at 52 I think.
Politically what...what was the word you used (The book you reviewed). Thank you......

It was David who said it toward the beginning..........it was "Politically blank".

I talked about how political art loses something vital and about political ponerology. Is this what you meant?
