Shapiro is a constitutional scholar and senior fellow at the Manhattan Institute whose work focuses on free speech, higher education, and the justice system. He is also formerly the executive director of the Georgetown Center for the Constitution, vice president of the Cato Institute, and director of its Center for Constitutional Studies.

He writes the newsletter Shapiro’s Gavel, his work has appeared in The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, National Review, and is the author of Supreme Disorder: Judicial Nominations and the Politics of America’s Highest Court. His new book, Lawless: The Miseducation of America’s Elites, came out in January.
