Sorry no intent to offend. Remember that I subscribed to you. If you are going to educate the population to the danger of communism, then just so. There is no form of socialism or communism that can or does work. It is an ideology that is the antithesis of freedom and prosperity, and leads to economic doom and incredible human suffering. I dont find that message coming through in your writing... rather it seems almost apologetic to left wing ideology which continues to search for the correct form of Marx's craziness that will eventually work. The "chained to your past" comment was meant to illustrate what i see as a collective longing the left has embraced at losing Valahala; that the ridiculous way of organizing society (communism/socialism) just doesn't work. What the population needs to hear is wholesale rejection of the fantasy of "from each according to ability and to each according to need", and recognize the great advances that have been made in just 200 years by organizing under democratic capitalism.

No offense taken. I don't think we should try to find the kind of communism that will work, but I do think we should try to understand why communism doesn't work, how it has evolved and what kind of danger it presents to us today. That means doing a good faith analysis of communist doctrine rather than dismissing it as garbage, and so maybe that was what you read as apologetic. Anyway, thanks for the feedback and for the discussion!

Hi and thanks for replying. I read your article about being shunned by the lefties, and that is why I subscribed. You have talent, and are capable of great good in exposing the lie and deception of the poltical left where "things are free and life is better". However, you remain chained to your past. Break free and embrace the reality that people are better off without the chains of socialism/communism. Write intlstead about how the human race has been freed from literal slavery by capitalism, and how socialism/communism threatens to return us all to that miserable state.

I really don't know what you mean about being chained to my past. What past? It's not like I was a Soviet spy in a former life.

I subscribed. I find your articles meandering and confused. You are a socialist/communist on the verge of understanding that it is a failed amd corrupt ideology. I hope to see better, advanced and more enlightened articles from you.

Hi Edward, thanks for subscribing. But if you think I am a communist in any conceivable sense of the word then I am afraid you are not understanding my articles or the purpose of this newsletter.

When you subscribed, you may have received an automatic message that begins, "Political extremism, communism, fascism—these are the enemy. Information is the weapon. Welcome to The Radicalist."

If not, I recommend looking at the About section where I note that my family fled communist Russia and that I have done journalistic work exposing communist evils in China, North Korea, Vietnam, Peru and elsewhere. You will also find an essay in which I write about how I was recently fired after arguing that Vladimir Lenin was psychologically more evil than Adolf Hitler. Hopefully that clears up any confusion and hopefully you will find future articles worthwhile.

I think he's a genius. He's staying committed to the root principles of humanism. He's calling his position socialism because so much of the anti-socialist rhetoric is so hostile to humanism. Even if he changed his mind and called himself "conservative" he'd have to constantly reconcile how he's out of alignment with that movement as well. Both movements are corrupt, and in America, the right and left are simply acting out socialist vs capitalist as political theatre to gain votes and maintain their two-party system. So no matter what you call yourself, if you're truly awake to the bullshit, you have to constantly talk about the bullshit that sounds you.
